Business Partnership Opportunities with California HOSA
(Health Occupations Students of America)

Cal-HOSA provides an organized communication network for educating high school and college students about health care careers.  Cal-HOSA is a direct pipeline for your workforce needs.  Business partners provide professional, educational, leadership, and growth opportunities for Cal-HOSA members.  Business partnerships with Cal-HOSA are established by:

Cal-HOSA Membership

Cal-HOSA offers several levels of membership for professional health care partners.  A minimum membership is $100.00 per year for an individual, and $500 per year for an organization or corporation.  Cal-HOSA accepts additional donations to support high school and college students in their quest for a health care career.

To become a member, fill out the partnership form and it and your check to the address on the form.

Competitive Events

Sponsorship of a competitive event at the State Leadership Conference provides funds for event costs (e.g. student scholarship, certificates and medals).  To sponsor events, fax the Competitive Event form to Cal-HOSA headquarters.

Educational Scholarships

Each HOSA member receiving a medal for wining a competitive event receives a small monetary scholarship.  Scholarships are awarded to the top, three medalists. Your company’s name will be on the recipient’s monetary award.   Scholarship amounts:

  • Individual events - $350
  • Two member team events – 700
  • Four member team events - $1,400
  • Five or more team member events - $1,750 plus

Judge - State Leadership Conference

Each spring about 800 Cal-HOSA members attend the State Leadership Conference and compete in 32+ medical events.  Events can involve multiple choice tests, writing, speaking, drawing, photography and presentations.  Competitive events are judged by health care professionals or educators with knowledge of the event. 

HOSA needs one or more people to judge each event.  Event and judging rules are provided prior to and at the State Leadership Convention, with a brief orientation before the event..

Workshop or Special Event

Sponsoring a workshop or special event at the HOSA State Leadership Conference can include the following.  Your company’s name is prominently displayed as the sponsor.

Exhibit

As a vendor or health care industry partner, you may set up a display promoting, job opportunities, publications or other health care related items or resources.  The Cal-HOSA Board of Directors reserves the right to review and refuse items they deem are inappropriate.

State Leadership Conference Program

Place your ad in the Cal-HOSA State Leadership Conference program.  Your ad will reach 800+ attendees interested in health care careers.  Cal-HOSA uses the program as a public relations tool throughout the year.

Cal-HOSA Newsletter

Cal-HOSA State Officers distribute a quarterly newsletter, HeartBeat, to all HOSA chapters and interested businesses and organizations.  The newsletter is on the Internet and in paper form.  Sponsoring the Cal-HOSA newsletter gets the word out about health career opportunities at your organization.
