Membership Information

Overview

Since 1995, Cal-HOSA has continued to grow at about 8-25% yearly.  Cal-HOSA Membership consists of middle school members , secondary members, postsecondary/collegiate members, and professional members.   Cal-HOSA is a Career Technical Student Organization (CTSO).  Regarding membership requirements check the affiliation survey.   Additionally, to start a chapter, you must have five students and at least one qualified advisor with the support of the school administration.

Activities for membership include

Conferences and leadership development activities at the local, regional, state and international levels include:

  • Advisor Training
  • Leadership development opportunities such as Washington Leadership Academy, various conference workshop presentations
  • Leadership project participation and other conference opportunities
  • Partnerships with the Healthcare industry
  • Recognition opportunities for students, advisors, and administrators
  • Fall Leadership Conferences – by region
  • State Leadership Conference
  • International Leadership Conference in various locations of the United States
  • State Officer Leadership through serving as Cal-HOSA State Officer
  • Community Service activities / HOSA Service Project

  • Chapter Support grants to build membership and industry partnership
  • Student focused activities to assist students in leadership skill development and becoming familiar with the healthcare industry and career options.

Membership Affiliation Process From Survey to Application

To be an officially recognized Cal-HOSA Chapter, the following requirements must be met:

Cal-HOSA Affiliation Survey

  • Complete the Cal-HOSA Affiliation Survey Complete and submit the online Affiliation Survey located on HOME PAGE @ cal-hosa.org or click button below

After you have completed the online Cal-HOSA Affiliation Survey and received approval from the California State Advisor your chapter will be unblocked to complete the HOSA membership affiliation for your chapter:

HOSA Affiliation Application Step by Step Instructions

  1. Go to the HOSA website at hosa.org.
  2. Click the login link at the top right of the home screen.
  3. Enter your charter number and password to begin the annual affiliation process.
  4. Read the Chapter Affiliation Instructions .
  5. Select Complete the Affiliation Application from the options.
  6. Complete all necessary information and add members.
  7. DOUBLE check the members, once submitted there will be NO REFUNDS
  8. Submit the email for each member, personal emails are recommended.
  9. Select view and print an affiliation account statement, then submit the invoice to your accounting department for payment.
  10. All affiliation fees are payable to HOSA – Future Health Professionals.
