Scholarship Availability

  1. Cal-HOSA MeritScholarship promotes excellence in health science careers education, community service, and HOSA involvement. Must be a current senior or postsecondary student.

 

  1. Board of Directors Leadership Scholarship promotes leadership development for local, state, and national officers. Must be or have served as a local, state, or national officer. Must be a current senior or postsecondary student.
Scholarship eligibility requirements: Including the  information above
  1. GPA of 3.0 or better verified by a transcript
  2. Two (2) letters of recommendation – One (1) from the local HOSA advisor and one (1) from a healthcare professional *Note this is NOT student advisor and needs to be someone currently working in healthcare
  3. Community Service – 75 verified hours by your chapter advisor through the Member Activity Tracking System during the current HOSA year, four (4) of which must be dedicated to the HOSA Service Project (“Be the Match”)
  4. Personal Essay – 500 word minimum.

Upload one PDF document to the NEW Digital Upload System containing all the requirements mentioned above. (multiple documents are allowed if necessary)

Steps to apply for a scholarship:

Have your local chapter advisor  register you  for the scholarship conference named:

  1. “Cal-HOSA Scholarship Submissions Conference”  Local Advisor: Click here to register your student for a scholarship
  2. Once registered for either of the scholarship opportunities a link will be emailed to the student to upload all the required documents. (This is the same process as all the other events that require a digital upload)
    Registration will open from January 1, 2024 until March 22, 2024 by 6:00 pm.
