General Session Chapter Signs

Show your HOSA chapter spirit!  Chapters are encouraged to bring a chapter sign for the SLC general sessions. The signs should identify the chapter and show HOSA creativity and enthusiasm.

Signs must be adhered to a pole or stick that is no longer than three (3) feet. The sign must not be larger than 24” x 36”, must identify the chapter’s name and region, and integrate the HOSA logo.  Chapters not adhering to these guidelines will not be allowed on-stage.

Judging Events

The California HOSA CE Program requires an extraordinary amount of effort, work, and volunteer spirit to be successful and truly prepare students for career achievement.  The more volunteers available, the easier, less time-consuming, and more efficient it is for everyone.

If you have industry partners, chaperones, or colleagues that are qualified to judge events, please get them involved.  Please go to the Judge Registration link at cal-hosa.org for details.

Cal-HOSA, Inc, Meeting

Each chapter must have one representative in attendance at the annual Cal-HOSA, Inc. meeting.  As the corporate body of Cal-HOSA, it is mandatory that each chapter in good standing appoint one representative to be in attendance.  One of the primary duties of Cal-HOSA, Inc. is to elect our Board of Directors that will serve as the governing and policymaking body for the corporation.  If you are interested in serving on the Cal-HOSA Board of Directors, complete and submit the Board of Directors application online at cal-hosa.org. Each Director serves for two consecutive years.

SLC Grams are a great way to make this happen. Purchase SLC Grams for $5.00 each and they will be included in the California HOSA App.  Complete the SLC Gram form found on cal-hosa.org and mail payment to Cal-HOSA Headquarters, P.O. Box 12259, Bakersfield, CA 93389 by the posted deadline.

Avoid Common Registration Frustrations

  1. Read this registration and information online in detail! Assign it for extra credit homework for chapter officers so multiple members of your chapter are familiar with SLC requirements and procedures.
  2. Read the HOSA Guidelines for each event in which your students are competing! Encourage your students to own their competitive event preparation by reading and keeping their own personal copy of the Competitive Events guidelines for their specific event(s). All CE Guidelines are available online at hosa.org/guidelines.
  3. Follow-up with your district or business office to make sure that all fees will be paid on-time and that you have satisfied all district requirements for travel.
  4. Complete and submit all mandatory per instructions by the posted deadlines. Always have original copies of the documents with you during the SLC.
  5. All event payments are to be made payable to: Cal-HOSA, Inc., P.O. Box 12259, Bakersfield, CA 93389.
  6. Carefully review the Dress Code and the Code of Conduct with your students before you leave for SLC. There is NO reason for competitors to be disqualified from competition and the SLC if they prepare correctly.
