Conference Registration Guide

The California HOSA – Future Health Professionals State Officers, the Board of Directors, and the California Department of Education (CDE) invite you to attend the Cal-HOSA State Leadership Conference (SLC). This conference will bring together future health professionals from across California to experience HOSA at its absolute best. 

Throughout the conference attendees will have the opportunity to meet many fellow California HOSA members who share dreams of changing the world by becoming a health professional.  Stand proudly and cheer for your chapter, represent your school’s hard work at the state meetings, experience educational and leadership workshops, and for many attendees, showcase your abilities in the California HOSA Competitive Events Program.  Get ready, prepare well, do your best, and make this an experience of a lifetime.

The SLC Program can be found on the California HOSA APP.  The California HOSA App is available on Android and Apple technologies as well as on the web.  The California HOSA App is used for all SLC events.  Download the app at iTunes, Amazon or Google Play; search California and download the app.  A PDF version of the schedule of events will be available for download prior to the SLC and a limited number of printed schedules will be available the SLC. There will be an information station with the web app version available for attendees to view online.

Students, advisors, and chaperones are required to attend the entire conference!

Students and advisors must be affiliated to register and attend.

• Official chapter advisor is required to attend the entire conference.   Students without an official chapter advisor will be sent home at the expense of the chapter with NO SLC refund granted and the school administrator notified.

• All accrued chapter fees must be paid in full PRIOR TO posted deadline to register and attend the SLC

• There will be NO Competitive Event revisions after the close of registration nor at the SLC! Changes will NOT be accepted unless there is a proven emergency that has occurred, and you petition the State Advisor PRIOR TO the SLC for consideration

• Middle School chapters must register for the entire Cal-HOSA State Leadership Conference (SLC).  As one of our three divisions, middle school competitors must adhere to the same dress code, SLC attendance, and hotel policies as the secondary and postsecondary/collegiate divisions.

• “As of October 2020, students must have a California approved identification, (Clear ID or Passport) to travel by plane.”

The following forms and applications must be completed online by posted deadline as part of the registration packet. (These forms should all be appropriately linked)

• Advisor Statement of Assurance form – Mandatory
• ALL Competitive Events that require Digital Uploads
• Barbara James Service Award receipt (tracked on HOSA Activity Tracking System)
• Board of Directors application
• California HOSA Administrator of the Year (Middle School, Secondary or Postsecondary)
• California HOSA Advisor of the Year (Middle School, Secondary, or Postsecondary)
• California HOSA Alumni of the Year
• Code of Conduct form – Mandatory
• Delegate Permission/Medical Release Form – Mandatory
• HOSA Happenings: Newsletter or website pages submitted on New Digital Upload System
• HOSA Service Project receipt (tracked on HOSA Activity Tracking System)
• Scholarship applications 
• State Officer Candidate application
• Student Social Agreement – Mandatory
